
In Maryland, drivers are legally drunk if they have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08 percent or higher. Recently, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine released a report that recommends lowering the minimum BAC to 0.05 percent to reduce alcohol-related fatalities.
