While monitoring safety on the track between Baltimore and Washington, an Amtrak watchman was fatally injured after being struck by a train that was traveling at a high rate of speed. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), it has not yet been confirmed whether speed was the sole cause of the train accident.
